Networking and connecting with other people opens up opportunities to meet with people that have already gone through what you are doing now. They can provide insights and ideas on how to make the most out of those experiences. They have the experiences and insights that got them where they are today.
Asking others to share their story and answer questions you may have about an industry or occupation can help you with real life advice, or even asking someone to be your mentor is a good practice. Many of those you meet will be happy to give back and be that person. For every person you connect with, they know 10 other people and these connections lead to possibilities, support and opportunities that may lead to job opportunities or even other important connections.
